沙先生几篇有关碑版的写手与刻手问题的文字发表后,引起书法界同人的重视。特别是一九八七年在中日书法讨论会宣读的一篇《两晋南北朝书迹的写手与刻手问题》,更受中日两国书法界的激赏。这篇报告,简要明快地阐明碑版刻手大有优劣之分,书法经过刀刻后,能否百分之百保持作者的真面,实在是个大问题。沙先生报告中最突出的一句话:“刻手好,东魏时代会出现赵孟頫。刻手不好,兰亭也会变成爨宝子。”可说是历来书论中的“名言”。
