In recent years, with the good development of the relations between the two parties and the two countries, the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has made outstanding achievements and has become a bright spot in the relations between the two countries. In 2006, the volume of bilateral trade between Vietnam and China was only 9.9 billion U.S. dollars, reaching 72 billion U.S. dollars by 2016 (up to 98 billion U.S. dollars based on Chinese statistics). China has become Vietnam’s largest trading partner for 13 consecutive years. Vietnam became the largest trading partner of China and ASEAN countries in 2016. In 2016, China invested 1.8 billion U.S. dollars in Vietnam, and the amount of investment in the first quarter of 2017 has reached nearly 1 billion U.S. dollars
