文物展览交流是博物馆一项重要的业务活动,这是由博物馆的功能和性质决定的。通过借用其他博物馆的展品举办临时展览或特别展览,可以丰富展览主办博物馆的业务活动,满足不同观众多方面的文化需求,促进馆际之间的交流与合作,培养和锻炼业务人员等。而国际文物交流展览是国际间博物馆或其他文化机构间的一种展览交流活动,是涉外馆际业务交流与合作的一种主要途径。除了一般文物展览交流所具有的作用外,作为文化交流的一种重要方式,国际文物交流展览还承担着促进不同文化之间的对话、构建国际文化新秩序的职责。
