Report on experimental results of gallium arsenide laser arrays. The pulse width of the array of light beams is about 0.7 to 5 ns and the near-field spot area is about 100 mm × 6 mm; it has been used to trigger a semiconductor photoconductive switch array in a high-power electromagnetic pulse generator. A method of increasing the repetition rate of optical pulses - double pulse sequence method is introduced. The equivalent pulse repetition rate of the laser pulse is about 100MHz. A multi - beam superposition scheme is proposed in which the light energy in the output laser beam is uniformly distributed.
