A full-day workshop on the Stockholm World Water Week, held from August 16 to August 20, 2004, delves into the key features of megacities in developing countries. According to the UN definition, cities with a population of more than 5 million are called big cities. Particular attention was given to the challenges involved in water and wastewater treatment and how to formulate the fundamental functions that these vital vitalities in urban life are to regulate.
