对于贾第鞭毛虫在人肠组织中的情况,尚不十分清楚。现在有了粘膜活检技术,使有可能进行研究。31例粪便发现贾第鞭毛虫的患者,作十二指肠与空肠粘膜活检,进行组织学研究。全部患者的十二指肠与空肠切片,都能在肠腔中发现滋养体。偶尔亦见滋养体与粘膜紧密接触,成层地覆盖在粘膜表面。这有可能对小肠吸收过程产生机械性障碍,导致吸收不良。12例于粘膜内见有贾第鞭毛虫滋养体,其中4例发现在十二指肠,5例在空肠,3例在十二指肠及空肠。在不同的切片中可见到不同的粘膜入侵期,从进入上皮以至移到固有层。在上皮内常见单个滋养体,偶尔亦见群集成堆。贾第鞭毛虫进入粘膜的途径:一个例子是在粘膜内发现滋养体所留下的痕迹样空间中有另一个滋养体的尾部伸入;第2
The situation of Giardia in human intestinal tissue is not yet clear.
