鉴于粉末高速钢在强度和其它性能方面的特点,其它切削材料几乎无法同它进行对比。粉末高速钢的切削性能特别适用于铣削奥氏体不锈钢X4CrNiMoB1812(材料号为1.4591)和尼莫尼克镍基高温合金80A(材料号为2,4952)等难加工材料。在加工奥氏体钢时,由于产生强烈的加工硬化,因此在切削区,刀刃受到很大的切削力,同时由于这种钢材的导热性很差,因此使刀刃在持续高温的条件下工作并由此导致很高的切削负荷。
