扬麦158由江苏里下河地区农科所在扬麦4号×st1472/506选系的基础上,采用综合育种方法育成.我市于1988年引进,1990年秋播起对其生育特性、产量形成规律及高产栽培技术进行了试验研究.一、产量表现据我市3年品比和生产示范,该品种亩产352~421.gkg,平均390kg,比扬麦5号增产13.4%,达极显著水平.1992年我市超稀播繁殖(亩播量3~3.5kg)450亩,平均亩产377kg.其中洋溪乡徐(?)村135.6亩连片示范方,平均亩产402.1kg,比扬麦5号增产14.9%.该村农户邵坤法种植的2亩,实收亩产达480.8kg,均创我市小麦生产的新纪录.
