随着国家教育体制改革的不断深入和应试教育向素质教育转变,图书馆在学校教育中的作用明显提高了。要发挥小学图书馆的作用,就必须开展图书馆各项业务工作,就必须有高素质的图书管理人员。这就是说,要真正使小学图书馆在素质教育中发挥其应有作用,除了必备的办馆条件和领导重视外,最主要的因素是图书管理员。人们常说:“巧妇难为无米炊”,无“米”炊不了,但有了米,是不是一定做得出香喷喷的饭呢?那可不一定。煮饭人的技巧经验及熟练程度都是重要的影响因素。小学图书馆工作的开展也是如此,管理员这个“炊事员”的素质不提高是煮不好“小学图书馆”这锅饭的。管理人员素质的高低直接影响小学图书馆工作的开展。
