Objective: To understand the effect of chronic experimental stress on blood glucose level in STZ Kunming mice. Methods: 40 STZ mice and 20 normal Kunming mice were divided into four groups according to their blood glucose and sex. Experimental stress methods are limiting, spinning, and crowding for a period of six weeks, with blood glucose rechecked every two weeks after the experiment. Results: Chronic stress could significantly increase blood glucose in male STZ Kunming mice. Drugs, stress and sex, a single factor on the role of blood sugar are not obvious, the interaction of drugs and stress on the 4th and 6th week of blood glucose significantly effect, drug, stress and gender interactions on the 6th week of blood glucose obvious. CONCLUSIONS: Chronic experimental stress stimulates blood glucose in STZ rats significantly; male mice are more susceptible to stress than their female counterparts.
