学校有近50年的办学历史,是原四川省首批办好的重点小学。有良好的办学传统、规范的办学行为和较为深厚的文化底蕴。学校现有50个教学班,在校学生3386人,在岗教职工123人,其中专任教师115人,特级教师3人,中学高级教师4人,涪陵区教书育人专家2人,区科技拨尖人才2人,区学科带头人5人,区中青年骨干教师23人,重庆市中青年骨干教师8人,重庆市骨干校长1人,区党代表、人大代表和政协委员各1人。学校有多功能厅、网管中心、演播室、美术室、微机室、实验室等功能室。
