I. Introduction The “soothsayer” is a masterpiece in the works of Margaret Lawrence’s women. Both the ideological and artistic features of the novel represent Lawrence’s writing achievements. The author describes the heroine as a self-struggle of modern white women with delicate brush strokes, and makes thought-provoking thinking about the living conditions of women.
