"发育"是生命科学中的重要概念,广泛应用于植物学相关的各研究领域。目前,生命科学中的"发育"一词不仅没有明确的定义,而且不同的解释之间所阐释的"发育"内涵也不相同。从"发育"的词源和词义演变入手,分析现代汉语和生命科学术语等不同层次,以及发育的定义及其内涵,并提出对植物发育定义的见解。
