蠕墨铸铁(或称紧墨铸铁)是一种正在发展的新型铸铁材料。由于它的石墨组织介于片状石墨和球状石墨之间,在普通二维光学显微镜下观察,其石墨较普通片状石墨短而粗,端头呈半圆形,状似蠕虫。但将试样经过深度腐蚀,用电子扫描显微镜观察,可以看到其石墨实际呈分枝状,互相联接。由于蠕墨铸铁具有这种特殊的石墨组织,故导热性显著大于球墨铸铁而略低于普通灰铸铁,如表1。蠕墨铸铁的抗拉强度大于高强度灰铸铁而低于球墨铸铁,如表2。蠕墨铸铁的浇注性能接近灰铸铁,体积收缩率小于球墨铸铁,因此基本上可以使用灰铸铁的浇注系统,
Compacted graphite cast iron (or compacted graphite iron) is a new type of cast iron material being developed. Because of its graphite structure between flake graphite and spherical graphite, observed under a common two-dimensional optical microscope, the graphite is shorter and thicker than ordinary flake graphite, the tip is semicircular, resembling a worm. However, after the sample is deeply etched and observed with an electron scanning microscope, it can be seen that the graphite is actually branched and connected with each other. As vermicular graphite cast iron has this special organization, it is significantly greater than the thermal conductivity of ductile iron and slightly lower than ordinary gray cast iron, as shown in Table 1. Compacted graphite cast iron tensile strength is greater than the high-strength gray cast iron and lower than the ductile iron, as shown in Table 2.
