英国卫生安全委员会2003年7月第一次公布了2002/2003年度工作场所安全卫生统计报告,该报告初步统计情况如下:因工死亡人数2002/2003年度,英国因工死亡人数为226人,比上一年度的251人下降10%;每10万人死亡率为0.8,比上一年度的0.9下降10%;因工死亡人数和死亡率从20世纪90年代起基本上呈下降趋势(见图1)。
