作为党的第二代领导集体核心的邓小平，在改革开放和社会主义现代化建设中做出了一系列正确的决策。其所以如此，是因为他的决策有着科学的依据，那就是以人民为主体的价值取向，解放思想、实事求是的唯物主义哲学基础和以生产力作为根本尺度的判断标准。在此基础上，形成了邓小平决策的鲜明特点，即实践性、时代性、务实性和科学性。这是邓正确决策的基础和保证。对我们今天进行正确决策有着重大指导意义。
Deng Xiaoping, the core of the second-generation leadership collective of the party, made a series of correct decisions in the process of reform and opening up as well as the socialist modernization drive. This is so because his decision-making has a scientific basis, which is the materialist philosophical foundation taking people as the main value orientation, emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts, and the standard of judging with productivity as the fundamental criterion.
