Stomata are the most common pitfalls in casting production. According to different gas sources, stomata can be divided into three types of invasion stomata, precipitation stomata and reaction stomata. Invasion of stomata is due to the thermal effect between the molten metal and the mold during the pouring process, so that the gas generated by the volatiles in the sand mold and tapioca core and the air existing in the cavity invade the pores formed in the molten metal. In general, the invasion of stomata caused by improper casting process and poor exhaust of the sand is easy to overcome.
