Q: How did you get involved[使参与] in sports?
Charlotte: I come from a sports family. My parents began introducing me to sports when I was very young. I have two older brothers who are very athletic, and we played various sports growing up. We always attend one another’s competitions. I am their biggest cheerleader and they are mine.
Q: What piece of advice would you give to other teens who are blind or visually impaired[
Charlotte: I have been fortunate to be raised in a family who never treated me differently. My parents told me, at a very young age, that “everyone in this world struggles with something and that my vision was going to be my something, so I would need to figure it out and get on with living my life.” That was probably one of the biggest moments in my life; I was three years old at the time.
Q: Do you have a career interest or aspiration[
Charlotte: I have made a list of several careers I might be interested in pursuing[追求]. I add to them when I learn of something that interest me. Some that are on my list are: a physician[内科医师], a language interpreter[翻译员] for the U.N., or a coach.
