美国南方作家波特的《被遗弃的韦瑟罗尔奶奶》与韦尔蒂的《熟路》各自以不同的写作特色刻画了一位意志坚强、性格倔强的老奶奶。波特主要运用意识流的技巧,而韦尔蒂一向以淡化情节闻名;但两位作家在人物刻画方面又有相似之处。本文通过比较两人在人物刻画中的异同,以使大家对两位女作家的写作风格能更清晰全面的了解。
American Southern writer Porter’s “Abandoned Wetheroll” and Werty’s “Familiar Road” each depict a strong-willed, stubborn granny with different writing features. Porter used the technique of stream of consciousness mainly, and Weltie was famous for his desalination episodes; however, the two writers shared similarities in characterization. This article compares the similarities and differences between the two figures in portrayal so that everyone can have a clearer and comprehensive understanding of the writing styles of the two female writers.
