The 2nd International Broadcast Theory Symposium, chaired by the China Broadcasting Institute, was held in Beijing from November 19 to November 23, 1992. Fifty experts and scholars working in the international broadcasting field for a long time have discussed the strategic issues concerning the development of China’s international broadcasting under the new situation. The conference received a total of 80 papers. The participants were glad to review the international broadcasting undertaking in our country. Since 1947, Yan’an Xinhua Broadcasting Station has started broadcasting English to foreign countries
