Material is the basic element that forms the landscape and plays a decisive role, especially in hard paving. This paper discusses the sustainable development of landscape design through the analysis of the characteristics, ecological concepts and using principles of the landscape hard pavement materials. Landscape design is the science and art of analyzing, planning, reforming, managing, protecting and recovering land. It is a comprehensive design of land, a coordination of the relationship between man and nature, and a question of how man uses land. In landscape design, it is often a combination of artificial factors, natural to
