中国的古代的偶像,多数是政治正确的偶像,而且是皇家颁定的。中国古代军人中,最著名、影响最大的就是关羽。这位善战、骄傲的东汉将军在死后逐步成为各朝代大力树立的偶像,被赋予“忠义、勇猛”的属性,并被佛教和道教来回争夺。两个教派都把关公像塑在自己的庙观中,认为关公应该是自己的护法神。
Most of the ancient Chinese idols were politically correct idols and were promulgated by the royal family. Among the ancient Chinese soldiers, Guan Yu is the most influential one. This mighty and proud general of the Eastern Han Dynasty gradually became the idol vigorously established by the dynasties after his death and was conferred the title of “loyalty, courage,” and was battled back and forth between Buddhism and Taoism. Both denominations like Kwan Kung in his temple view, believing that Kuan Kung should be his own deity.
