目前学界缺乏对民国时期偷书现象的专题研究。民国时期的偷书人主要是去书店、图书馆、个人私藏进行偷书。生活所迫去偷书的人群主要有两种:一种人是喜欢看书却没钱买书的学生、知识青年;另外一种人是偷书进行倒卖赚钱的人。偷书在民国时期被认为是一种道德的缺失,当时规定有相应的惩罚和法律制裁。
At present, the academic circle lacks the special research on the phenomenon of stealing book during the Republic of China. The book-stealing people during the Republic of China mainly went to the bookstore, library, personal possession to steal books. There are two main types of people who are forced to steal a book in life: one is a student who likes to read a book but can not afford to buy a book, a young man who is knowledgeable. The other is a person who steals a book to make money and resells money. Stealing a book was considered a moral deficiency during the Republican period, at which time penalties and legal sanctions were prescribed.
