本次论坛是今年7月在美国举行的第三次中美基础教育论坛——“中美高中数学与科学教育高层论坛”的进一步拓展与深化。在第三次中美基础教育论坛上,中美代表对两国科学和数学教育领域的重要问题,特别是高中教育改革问题,进行了广泛而深入的讨论,形成了通过加强双方的交流与合作共同推进中美数学与科学教育发展的意愿,并就两国数学与科学教育工作者今后进一步开展交流与合作达成了共识。中方代表还公布了《通过交流与合作共同提高中美数学与科学教育质量——第三次“中美基础教育论坛”报告》。
This forum is the third Sino-U.S. Basic Education Forum held in the United States in July this year. The “China-U.S. High School Mathematics and Science Education High-Level Forum” is further expanded and deepened. At the Third China-US Basic Education Forum, representatives from China and the United States conducted extensive and in-depth discussions on important issues in the areas of science and mathematics education in the two countries, especially on the reform of high school education, and formed an exchange and cooperation through strengthening the two sides. We will jointly promote the development of mathematics and science education in China and the United States and reach consensus on the further exchanges and cooperation between mathematics and science educators of the two countries in the future. The Chinese representative also announced the “Jointly Improve the Quality of Mathematics and Science Education between China and the United States through Exchanges and Cooperation - the Third China-US Basic Education Forum”.
