In order to exchange experience in plant introduction, domestication, cultivation and breeding and establishment of botanical gardens, and in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Lushan Botanical Garden at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Botanical Society held its first national plant introduction on September 21-28, 1964 in Lushan, Domestication academic conference. 40 delegates attended the conference and represented 28 research, teaching and industrial units in 16 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.
