An international paper on chemistry and biology of interferon was held in California, USA from March 7 to March 12, 1982. It reported the following: the structural function of interferon (IFN) and its genes, the effects of IFN Animal and in vitro models, IFN-s in human disease, recombinant and native IFN-s, and clinical trials of native IFN-s. Weissman reported that human IFN-α has 14 different genes, three of which are known to be pseudogenes, and the other four are unclear. Mouse LFN-alpha clones have now been established. He believes that although IFN-α and IFN-β were differentiated four billion years ago, the differentiation of human and mouse IFN-α was about 700 million years ago. Goeddel has established four gene clones of calf IFN-alpha and E. coli (EC) and IFN-gamma clones of monkey cells. This gene is located in human 12th dyed
