果园覆盖麦秸是一项节水、肥田、增产的有效途径,且由于简便易行,省工省力等优点,深受广大果农的欢迎。一、覆盖麦秸的好处1.蓄水保墒覆盖麦秸后,可减少水分的蒸发散失,提高土壤的蓄水保墒能力。据调查,覆盖的果园比对照区的0～26cm 土层含水量增加12.8～20.7mm。2.调节地温经观察,夏季可降低土壤温度9.3～16.5℃,保证了根系的正常生长和吸收能力;晚秋和冬季休眠期可提高土壤温度0.06～7.7℃,从而延长了根系的活动时间。3.减少杂草果园实行麦秸覆盖后,杂草大多因光照不足而难以成活,比不覆盖果园的杂草可减少10～30倍.
