Due to the rapid decline of forest resources and the assertion that natural disasters are exacerbated by the loss of forests, such as floods in China and landslides in Thailand, some countries in the Asia-Pacific region have made efforts to implement a comprehensive ban on logging and local ban on logging for the promotion of the protection of forests. Some other countries in the region are also determined to follow suit, impose a ban on logging or restrict logging.
