“哀公问孔”的材料是以哀公问、孔子答的宾主问答体形式记录的对话材料,涉及先秦、两汉时期重要的文献典籍,从其材料的来源看,这些材料有其合理性和真实性,包含了孔子对王道政治、君子修养、性情天命以及军事刑罚等问题的看法,反映了孔子晚年的思想体系和生命境界,在孔子遗说材料中占有重要地位,具有较高的研究价值。但这些孔子遗说也十分复杂,存在很多问题有待解决,在研究过程中需要具体材料具体分析。
