“知我者,陶铸也!”在广东,陶铸有许多高级知识分子朋友。杜国庠、陈耀真、毛文书、蒲蛰尤等知名专家、教授,都是陶铸的知交。他常常亲自登门拜访,向这些专家、学者求教,与他们推心置腹,无所不谈。他不时地过问这些高级知识分子的职务安排、政治待遇及生活上的住房、坐车、医疗等问题,并亲自督促落实。60年代初,经济困难的日子里,陶铸亲自提出一个对2000名高级知识分子和归侨、港澳同胞中上层知名人士实行分级特供的名单,要中共广州市委负责保证供应。

Du Guoqiu, Chen Yaizhen, Mao Wenshu, Po Zheyu, and other well-known experts and professors, are all known to Tao Zhu. From time to time, he asked about these senior intellectuals’ job placement, political treatment, housing, transportation and medical treatment, and personally urged the implementation. In the early 1960s, economically difficult days, Tao Zhu personally proposed a list of 2,000 senior intellectuals and returnees, Hong Kong and Macao compatriots graded celebrities to provide special list, the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee is responsible for ensuring supply.
