版面是报纸各种内容编排布局的整体表现形式,是通过应用版面语言来实现的。版面语言由两方面构成:一是编排手段,包括字、线条、色彩;二是版面空间,包括栏、区、版、空白等。现代报纸的版面,是报纸帮助和吸引读者阅读的手段,也是形成报纸个性的重要组成部分。当代电子计算机等高科技的发展使我们进入了电脑排版阶段,新技术为版面设计提供了丰富的手段,同时也激发了编辑们无穷的想象力和创造力,使我国报纸的版面日新月异,走向一个崭新的阶段,面对版面设计的新趋势,对其进行研究、分析,找出进行版面设计的规律性的东西,对于更好地表现报纸内容、体现报纸个性无疑是很重要的。
