平泉县被列入国家“三北”防护林体系建设范围以来,特别是承担首都周围绿化工程项目建设任务后,乡镇林业发展异军突起。仅1987年至今,全县20个乡镇共完成造林58万亩,其中工程造林32万亩,平均造林成活率由1987年的51%提高到现在的94.82%,为平泉县林业生产的发展起到了龙头作用。县内东西南北涌现出5个各具特色的先进典型,
