就我所见,李约瑟书第二卷,是第一部论述中国科学思想史的专著,而中国人自己的专著反付阙如。最近则有幸读到董英哲著《中国科学思想史》;全书共四十余万字,论列了从先秦直至清初的中国科学思想,从而填补了我国历史研究中一项重大的空白。从此,我们也有了中国人自己撰写的中国科学思想史了;而且从此,科学思想就正式被提到了思想史的议程上来,开始在它所应有的席位上就坐。这实在是值得欣慰的事。我想任何一个时代,人们的世界观都取决于如下三个条件的制约,即(一)人对自然界的关
As far as I can see, the second volume of Needham’s Book is the first monograph on the history of the Chinese scientific thought, while the Chinese monographs are not matched. Recently, I was fortunate enough to read Dong Yingzhe’s “History of Scientific Thought in China”. With a total of more than 400,000 words, the book lists the Chinese scientific thoughts from the pre-Qin period to the early Qing era, thus filling a major gap in the historical research in our country. From then on, we had the Chinese history of scientific thought authored by the Chinese themselves. From then on, the scientific thinking was formally referred to the agenda of the history of ideas and began to sit in the seats it deserved. This is really a happy thing. I think at any one time, people’s world outlook depends on the following three conditions of constraints, namely (a) people’s relations with nature
