Synaptic transmission of long-term depression (LTD) and long-term potentiation (LTP) are two important forms of behavioral-dependent synaptic plasticity and have long been the focus of study learning and memory. This review summarizes the molecular biology of LTD and its role in learning and memory in recent years.
