柴泽民,1916年出生在山西闻喜县的一个贫农家庭,早年投身革命,做过地下工作,打过仗、当过军分区司令。新中国成立后,任北京市委秘书长兼北京市国际活动指导委员会主任,开始外事工作。1960年调入外交部,先后出使匈牙利、几内亚、埃及、泰国和美国,其中泰国和美国是首任大使。1982年底出任中国人民外交学会副会长、中国公关协会会长等职,驰骋于民间外交舞台。迄今年届93岁高龄,仍在为增进中外人民的友谊而努力奔波。 Chai Zemin, born in 1916 in a poor peasant family in Wenxi County, Shanxi Province, devoted himself to the revolution in the early years, did underground work, fought in battle, and was commander of the military district. After the founding of new China, he served as secretary general of Beijing Municipal Committee and director of Beijing International Steering Committee, and started his foreign affairs work. In 1960 transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has to make Hungary, Guinea, Egypt, Thailand and the United States, of which Thailand and the United States are the first ambassador. At the end of 1982, he served as Vice President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and president of the China Public Relations Association, riding on the stage of non-governmental diplomacy. The 93-year-old as of this year continues to work hard to enhance the friendship between the Chinese and foreign peoples.
