据《唐宋八家丛话》记载,北宋文学家 欧阳修任翰林学士时,一日和同僚外出,见 奔马踩死一犬,他就问同僚怎样用几个字记 下此事,同僚说可记: “有犬卧通衢,逸马 蹄而死之。”这看上去已很简洁,谁知欧公笑 道: “使子修史,万卷未已也,不如记’逸 马杀犬于道’。”相比之下,欧阳修更胜一筹。 这就是人们广为传诵的“黄犬奔马”的故事。
