1987年10月,乌鲁木齐市举行了一次抗震防灾演习。较大规模的城市抗震防灾演习在我国还是首次。本文简述了这次演习的目的和任务、主要内容及组织领导情况,分析了演习的社会效果,指出这次演习是对乌鲁木齐市抗震防灾规划的一次检验,不仅对提高全市各社会集团和人民群众的临震应急能力和城市综合抗震防灾能力有重要作用,对全新疆的抗震防灾工作也有促进作用,对我国城市抗震防灾工作也将产生一定影响。
