With the development of globalization of world economy, English, as a universal language, is becoming more and more important in politics, economy and life. Accordingly, people have paid high attention to the importance of English teaching. It is pointed out in the English Curriculum Standard that contacting and understanding foreign cultures is beneficial to the understanding and use of English and love of the excelent traditional culture of the Chinese nation in the process of English teaching. And it accepts the edification of advanced cultures belonging to al mankind and cultivates international awareness. How to cultivate middle school students' cross-cultural awareness? This paper wil analyze why and how to give some strategies to cultivate cross-cultural awareness.
