随着医疗体系的不断完善、临床要求的不断提高,以及多媒体技术的发展,出现了新一代具有多媒体处理功能的医疗诊断系统。多媒体医疗影像系统在媒体种类、媒体介质、媒体存储及管理方式、诊断辅助信息、直观性和实时性等方面都使传统诊断技术相形见绌,这必将引起医疗领域的一次革命。“远程医疗会诊”这一概念及技术应用在现代医疗发展过程中应运而生。
