大桥镇,位于扬州市江都区东南部,面积160.16平方公里,人口近15万,是江都沿江开发区的前沿阵地。据说,古代这里是东海边,一眼望去,滩涂成片,荒烟蔓草,独有一块地方是白色的沙子,尤为醒目。后来,人们在这里围垦开荒,有了村落,逐步形成集镇,因其是在白沙滩上建起来的,故名白沙镇。宋淳熙二年(公元1175年)建大桥镇。
Daqiao Town, located in the southeastern part of Jiangdu District of Yangzhou City, covers an area of 160.16 square kilometers and has a population of nearly 150,000.
