法国作为海外中国学的创立国,在中国学研究上有着良好的传统,历史悠久。从康熙年间的法国来华耶稣会士向西方传播中国历史文化算起,大致可以分为5个发展阶段,并设立了一些重要的研究机构,出现了众多世界知名的中国学家,取得了丰硕的研究成果。因此,法国中国学在海外中国学研究中占有相当重要的地位,厘清法国中国学研究的历史和现状,将对我们深入了解和正确认识海外中国学有着十分重要的意义。
