酸是光学玻璃在加工、使用、保管过程中,难以排除的侵蚀介质。现行的GB-903-65标准中,关于“耐酸”性能的测试与分级方法不适用于非硅酸盐玻璃。本文提出以pH2.9的醋酸,pH4.6的缓冲溶液,pH5.8-6.0的水代替原先采用的一种酸作为测定介质,并采用递减式的分类定级方法,把我国约100种商品光学玻璃分成三大类,六个级别。此方法操作简单、现象明显,按其分类定级能明显区别光学玻璃的“耐酸”侵蚀性能,并与使用、加工状况基本上一致。
