Eddie is the central figure of Faulkner’s famous novel “The occasion of my dying”, and the whole story revolves around the story of her dying and more than ten days before and after “returning home”. This essay explores the tragic origins of the female figures by Faulkner by analyzing the complexity and contradiction of Eddie’s image and the incomplete rebelliousness in his love-hateful life.
