鼓吹乐是古乐的一种,它的创始者是秦末汉初的班壹。鼓吹乐最初是以外族的乐器为主的,然而班壹是在秦末时为避战乱而移居楼烦(今山西省静乐县)的。他把散在牧民中间的乐器集中在一起,加以改创,形成了当时一种新型的音乐演奏形式。鼓吹乐是以打击乐和吹奏乐器为主的合奏形式,有时加入歌唱。主要的乐器有鼓、排箫和笳、角等。当班壹在楼烦有了一定的势力后,就拥有了一个庞大的鼓吹
