金秋十月,天高云淡。夜来的一场霏霏细雨,将尘埃冲洗得一干二净,使空气显得愈发清新。本刊创刊五十期纪念暨编委会,于1991年10月15日,在北京金朗大酒店召开。1979年本刊创刊时,当时的红学家曾隆重聚会,当时茅盾、王昆仑、叶圣陶、顾颉刚、俞平伯、吴组缃等文学老前辈曾出席会议。今天红学家又在京开会,庆祝学刊创刊五十期。这次参加会议的除本刊编委会及编辑部全体人员之外,还有在京的部分红学专家及中国艺术研究院红楼梦研究所的全体成员。文联党组书记林默涵、著名作家王蒙、红楼梦学会前任会长吴组缃、中国艺术研究院原副院长苏一平、新加坡友好人士周颖南、德国汉学家史华兹及其他许多领导同志和知名人士,也到会祝贺并做了发言
