On June 2, 1995, a U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter plane was shot down by Bosnian Serb SAMs over Bosnia and Herzegovina. Pilot Ogrady pilots skydiving and fleeing in the Serb-controlled mountains. He spent six days in extremely difficult circumstances, and was finally rescued by helicopter commandos. This is a typical example of how pilots can save themselves and how to rescue them under the conditions of modern warfare. Pictured above is the F-16 fighter; the image to the right is Ogeradie rescued by the CH-53 E “Stallion” helicopter. At 7:30 am on June 8, 1995, he left the engine room to embark on the deck when he took a helicopter landing on the aircraft carrier “CASA Qi”; the joy of surviving could not conceal his emaciated weakness Toddler (US Navy picture). The picture shows the Serbian Armed Forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
