2005年4月10日,由中国国家博物馆、中国民间文艺家协会遗产抢救工程办公室、中华炎黄文化研究会、《中国文物报》社、《炎黄春秋》杂志社等单位共同发起的抢救民间家书项目,在北京正式启动。主办单位宣布:面向海内外公开征集散落在民间的中国家书,通过举行一系列活动,充分挖掘民间家书的价值,利用一切可能的形式弘扬亲情文化,为建设和谐社会助力。该项目的启动,在社会各界引起了极大反响,使传统家书这一优秀民间文化受到越来越多的人的重视与关注。
