一、INTRODUCTION选文简介:Rona Cooper‘n’Paul wallace《罗娜和保罗》是美国女作家Julia First于70年代初写作的一本十分有趣的关于青少年的小说。主人公Rona是个六年级的女孩子,由于眼睛近视的程度已经影响到看书写字,不得不在妈妈的带领下去配眼镜。尽管青少年的爱美之心使她非常不愿意去佩带那副大大的眼镜,但是并不宽余又有着三个孩子的家庭经济条件,使妈妈不肯为她购买在当时价格昂贵得高达200美金的隐形眼镜。Rona为了自己心中一直向往的隐形眼镜,决定到爸爸妈妈经营的全家赖以为生的食品店打工,通过自己的劳动换取购买隐形眼镜所需的金钱,最终如愿以偿。作者以Rona的口吻讲述整个故事,语言生动活泼,且处处顽皮诙谐,读起来十分贴近生活,亲切易懂,一定会吸引不少的小读者。
