罗福颐字子期,别署梓溪,浙江上虞人,一生劬于我国古玺文字、古西夏史、历史档案资料及墓碑等,著述甚富,大部份已刊行世。梓溪不幸于一九八一年十一月八日逝世,卒年七十有六,他的逝世是我国学术界一大损失。他毕生从事研究写作,夜以继日,孜孜不倦。常谓人曰:“人生仅数十年,若因循偷惰,安得有成?”故梓溪的著述及编纂、校补者达四五十种之多,成果之巨,
