建业天津市第五中药厂的前身——宏仁堂,是由北京同仁堂的一个老板乐笃周于1923年创造的,距今已有六十三年的历史。宏仁堂最初在北京建立了总店,后相继在上海、天津、青岛等开设了分号。宏仁常天津分号,建于1934年,共四个铺面。当时出售的药品,除由北京总号供应的丸散膏丹外,店内并设有专柜经营参茸和汤剂饮片。后来,宏仁堂在天津市马场道河北路口“乐家公馆”内设生产作坊,从北京同仁堂骋请精通业务、熟悉生产的技师指导生产中成药品。宏仁堂与北京同仁堂都属“乐家老铺”派生出来的中药店。它所生产的中成药,不仅与同仁堂的祖传“古方配本”一样,而且在生产中也象同仁堂一样,精选地道药材,严格按家传秘制的方法,制造中成药。因此,
